14 June 21
On Friday the 4th of June, we were onsite overseeing a wide load collection from a site in Evesham, Worcestershire at the food manufacturing and processing site Kane Foods Ltd. A site that provides salad products to the UK’s most loved supermarkets. Our task for the day was to watch a large ice tank and two air conditioning units being loaded by our approved haulage firm Naivette Services Ltd. The haulier were equipped with a large flatbed telescopic Hiab in order to safely load the consignment.
Due to the dimensions of the scrap metal collected from Evesham a wide load permit was required to transport this on the British Highways and to advise the relevant authorities that an abnormal load was to be travelling to our processing facility in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
Whilst the planning of the removal took a couple of weeks to ensure that the timings and relevant licenses and permits were in place, once the Hiab was on site it only took 1 hour and 30 minutes to safely lift all the redundant scrap and secure the load onto the flatbed.
